Subscription audit checklist
Before another renewal,
get the details straight.
Review one subscription with six practical checks. Identify what you know, what is still missing and where your next step belongs.
No account names, prices, receipts or bank details go into this page. Keep your actual record privately beside you.
01 / Prepare your record
What have you checked?
Tick a prompt after reviewing it in the provider's current account page, receipt or terms. A tick records your own check; this page cannot verify it.
Find the biller
before the button.
The service you use and the company that bills you may be different. For an Apple-billed subscription, Apple provides the management route. A plan purchased from another company may need to be managed with that company.
If you cannot find an expected subscription in Apple settings, check the receipt and which Apple Account it names. If there is no Apple receipt, identify the billing company from your own records. Apple's subscription cancellation guide explains these cases. This page does not access those records for you.
Do not treat a missing listing in one account as proof that the subscription ended. Confirm the account and provider before marking your own record as resolved.
Keep three dates
separate.
A useful review distinguishes the next charge, the date you plan to act and the end of access after a change. They can be different dates. Record the provider's wording where the timing is unclear.
Checking a cancellation box in your notes is not evidence from the provider. Keep the confirmation separately, and distinguish a request sent from a cancellation confirmed. Refund eligibility is a separate question.
A review that ends
with a usable note.
- Gather the facts. Review one plan using the six prompts. Leave unknown details marked unknown rather than estimating a deadline.
- Choose your own action. Keeping a useful plan can be a reasonable outcome. If you are undecided, record what you still need to check and when you will revisit it.
- Use the provider's official route. If you choose to change or cancel, take that step there. This checklist cannot submit it.
- Keep the outcome. Note whether you requested a change, received confirmation or still need a response. Check the later account state against what the provider said.
For a quick private record, write: service, account, billing provider, price and cycle, next charge, decision, action taken, confirmation and next check. Keep currencies separate when you later compare costs.
Keep the record and the reminder together
