How to play RushOrb with one hand, in five steps

Quick answer for the "one hand games for iPhone" search: RushOrb is built for exactly this. You drag anywhere to steer, and the three weather buttons sit under the same thumb. Here is one full stage, step by step, using the app's own screens.

  1. RushOrb screenshot: Drag anywhere to steer, says the on-screen hint at the bottom of the track.
    Step 1

Hold the phone like a remote

One thumb on the glass. Dragging anywhere steers the orb left and right; you never need the second hand.

  2. RushOrb screenshot: A split wall makes you choose: steer into your colour, or call the other one.
    Step 2

    Read the Storm Wall ahead

Curtains of weather stretch across the track, painted blue, red or green. A wall only parts for the weather it is painted with.

  3. RushOrb screenshot: The Weather Dial card in the app: three weathers, one thumb.
    Step 3

Call the weather with the same thumb

Frost, Blaze and Gale sit stacked on the right edge. Frost freezes ghost bridges solid. Blaze melts glass gates. Gale lifts you over hurdles.

  4. RushOrb screenshot: Bonus moves are listed under the weather cards.
    Step 4

Tap it again for the bonus move

Tapping an already-called weather fires its move: Lift, Flare, Chill, Glide and more. Use it when the ring is full.

Bonus moves are listed under the weather cards.

  5. RushOrb screenshot: Stage 1-2, Powder Run: reach the gate at 620 m, light 3 beacons, reach a x10 combo.
    Step 5

Light three beacons, cross the gate, put the phone away

Each stage awards up to three sparks: reach the gate, light every beacon, and the stage challenge. Finish one stage per stop and come back tomorrow.

Honest limits

Questions commuters ask

Can you really play RushOrb with one hand?

Yes. You drag anywhere on the screen to steer and tap the weather buttons with the same thumb. The listing describes it as a one-thumb 3D adventure, and the screenshots show the drag-to-steer control and the three weather buttons stacked on the right edge where a thumb rests.

Does it need Wi-Fi or data on the train?

No. RushOrb has full offline play, no ads and no account. Coins are earned only by playing.

Is it an endless runner?

It has an Endless mode and a Daily challenge, but the main game is 36 hand-built stages across six regions, each with three beacons and three sparks to earn. You can finish a stage in a couple of minutes and stop.

How long is one stage?

Short. The stage card for Powder Run, the first stage, lists a 620-metre gate, which takes a few minutes. That is the length of a bus stop or two.

Is it free?

Free to download, with optional cosmetic packs and a RushOrb Plus subscription for style and bonus rewards. The listing says they are never for clearing stages.

Which hand?

Either. Drag-to-steer works anywhere on the screen, so left-thumb players are not punished.

Who should pick something else

A stage between two stops

Platform, 8:12. The train is full, there is a pole to hold and one thumb free. Open RushOrb, tap Powder Run. Drag left around the first bend. A blue wall rolls in: Frost. Tap it. The ghost bridge over the chasm goes solid and the orb locks onto the rail.

Three beacons lit, finish gate at 620 metres, a x10 combo for the third spark. The doors open at 8:17. Phone away. The next stage will still be there this evening, and so will the sparks.

One thumb. Thirty-six stages.

Free, offline, no ads. Finish one stage per stop.
